the spirit of christmas

To often I think that we get caught up in the act of Christmas, the gift giving, the parties, the monetary value of things. I get so stressed this time of year to make sure that I buy something for everyone and make sure my kids have a better Christmas than the year before. Today it all hit me as I wrapped my millionth gift,why? When has this wonderful season became a time of "me, me and more, more"? There is hardly a commercial on tv that my 7 yr old doesnt say" I want that for Christmas" or "I hope Santa brings me this". So tomorrow, we will sit back, enjoy the lights of our local town and remember that the season that is upon us is time for family and love, not for gifts and toys.
